Garbage in Ditches?!

We are hearing reports from our field personnel that some residents are placing garbage in ditches in the parish... this is NOT a good idea. We need to keep our drainage infrastructure clear in the event we have more heavy rain...

What? Please tell me you're not serious.

Now, that is just pure ignorance! Why would someone even want to do such a thing!

I don't know if the report is true or not but the area where I live, Oakley, Nottaway etc., they said they were going to pick up the trash normally and then reneged. Practically everyone that left early put their trash containers out, full I might add, and thinking they would be picked up, left to evacuate. There was no trash pickup in this area. My daughter came by my house and returned my full container to my garage but the rest of those left out by evacuees blew all over the neighborhood. Perhaps this is why the ditches are being noticed full of garbage.

This 'see ditch, will dump" attitude was a problem on River Rd. before the storm.

Amandabike, I'm with you. Why tell us that they are goign to pick up the trach and then pull a no-show. Coastal was much better when they first started their service. Its been on a steady decline and this is part of it. Every time they pick trash up on my street you can tell they came by the trail of trash in the middle of the street!
