Finally... Re-Entry Press Conference Video

Re-Entry Press Conference from Renee Allemand on Vimeo.

I hope you can all view it. I am going home to shower and I'll be back online later on with a transcript of the rest of the important parts.

Good luck on the roads if you are coming back in tomorrow. But if you can stay away for longer, please do. The situation is still very dire here as far as food, supplies and sewage. We're working on contingency plans for that... stay tuned.

Can someone inform us of when the seven to ten days till parish up and running began? Also are generators or restored power to the lift stations one of the priorities? Thanks everyone for your tremendous effort.

Yes we are in the process of getting generators for the lift stations. We have over 200 of them to power though, so we need portable ones to bring around and pump down each individual station. I'll have more as it is available...

Jodi,

I'm in BR. Traffic is awful! It took me 38 minutes to go 3 miles today. Also, check with state police by calling *LSP on your cell to check road closures before you head out with your babies. It is a real mess in Baton Rouge...worse than Besty for them they are saying, so plan accordingly...I'd try and come through here at night...just make sure they have lifted the curfew in BR first (8pm - 6am) and thay your path is clear. Be careful.
