Power restoration update from Entergy

Entery spokesman Doug Rhodes reported this morning that workers got another 5,000 SCP customers back online Wednesday.

Today, linemen are working in -

  • The Bayou Gauche area. The hope is to have the entire island on by tonight
  • River Road at IMTT - There were multiple power lines down in this area across the road. This is the hurdle to getting St. Rose on the grid. Repairs here should be completed by Friday night.
  • Crews are focusing a lot on the East Bank.
  • Willowdale restoration will be more difficult because powerlines are located in backyards. Today crews worked on parts of the Boulevard but no side streets.
  • There are no areas Entergy thinks should not be up and running in the next 4 to 5 days.
  • Both water treatment plants (east and west banks) now have power.
  • As power is restored, customers may see sparking power lines and transformers. Please call into EOC if you see this happening - 985-783-5050.
  • Entergy is now also working in the Ama area to restore power.
  • Work will begin in Paradis and Des Allemands on Friday.
  • Entergy is looking to get Ashton Plantation up by 8 p.m. Friday.
  • We are way ahead of the game in St. Charles - St. John parish is reporting that 98 percent of its residents are still without power. St. Charles Parish is at 60 percent without power.

Please clarify. You wrote: "St. John parish is reporting that 98 percent of its residents are still without power. We are at 70 percent."

Does that mean we are at 70 percent with power, or 70 percent without power?

Does anyone know anything about the street behind the SCP Hospital, Steven Court?

Can someone tell me about the power in Lakewood Estates, end of Lakewood Drive in Luling?

Please be patient, everyone. I know. It sucks to be hot and miserable in your own home, but please be patient.

I know someone that works in dispatch for Entergy New Orleans and they're going around the clock in 16 to 18 hour shifts trying to get the power back on. There is a little more involved in getting the power back on than just hooking up a cable and flipping a switch. What is done in one place affects others since they have to flip feeders and stations on and off and re-route power.

Oakland Estates still doesn't have power as of this morning. We meaning approx 20 homes ( on both East and West Oakland) and the Bread of Life Church. Surprised that they don't hear all of the generators running on the street powering the houses in the middle of the horseshoe. Please, see what you can do. I understand the problems are worse in some areas, and know the problems Entergy is having.. I worked for Entergy in the Riverlake office for over 10 years. Whatever can be done would be greatly appreciated..
